The professional bullwhip artist, who performs his act at circuses and Wild West shows and has written a book on the subject, was attempting to break his own world record of 254 cracks, set in Minnesota last year. Official adjudicators from Guinness World Records were present, but were unable to say whether the record had been broken until they had studied video footage of Dante's attempt.
